Former Management Consultant and Serial-Entrepreneur, skilled at "getting-it-done", obsessed with efficiency, but hung up on effectiveness-first! Ezzeddin’s 12+ years of corporate experience include tenures at the Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), Unilever, Schlumberger, and Strategy& (formerly known as Booz Allen Hamilton). His 8+ years entrepreneurial journey span across the Health & Fitness, Food & Beverage, and Legal-tech industries.

Shehab El-Fahl

Co-Founder at Tawreedat

Before founding Tawredaat, Shehab honed 12 years supply chain expertise across diverse industries – from e-commerce giants like Jumia to humanitarian efforts with the United Nations, and even navigating the intricacies of telecommunications giants like Vodafone Egypt. Now, he is leveraging that breadth of experience to build something truly transformative!

Amal Enan

Amal Enan is a Partner at 500 Global, a multi stage venture fund investing in the world’s potential. Amal advises the American University in Cairo as the Chief Investment Officer of the Endowment and was the former Senior Advisor on COP27 to the World Resources Institute. Amal founded The Lotus Collective, an organization supporting access to finance for women and climate solutions for sustainable & inclusive growth.

At 500 Global, Amal leads the firm’s early stage investments in Egypt in high growth sectors including healthtech, fintech and Saas in addition to managing the wider Egypt programs and building the team. Amal was the former Executive Director of the Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund “EAEF”.

Quona Capital

Monica Brand Engel

Monica Brand Engel is co-founder and Managing Partner at Quona Capital – a venture firm focused on fintech for inclusion in emerging markets.

Monica is an entrepreneur and investor, having launched various funds and products aimed at broadening financial inclusion. At Quona, she leads Africa, MENA and Cross-Border investment strategy. Backed by institutional investors, Quona manages over $750M of assets across a portfolio of pioneering venture funds focused on financial technology for impact.

Monica started in Silicon Valley, where she helped launch a $50 million multi-bank lending intermediary to finance small businesses. Monica also worked at Calvert Ventures and Anthuri Ventures – early stage equity vehicles based in Bethesda and Cape Town, respectively. While living in S Africa, Monica founded Anthuri Catalysts to prepare early stage companies for investment. Monica then was recruited by Accion to set up a product innovation group and worked in Mexico with Gentera (née Compartamos) Bank, the largest microfinance institution in Latin America – which went public in 2007 (NSDQ: GENTERA:MM). Using the IPO proceeds, Monica founded Accion’s Frontier Investments Group, the predecessor to Quona Capital.

Monica Brand Engel, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Quona Capital, who has launched funds and products aimed at broadening financial inclusion globally. Engel (neé Brand) spent her formative years in Silicon Valley, launching and building alternative financing companies targeted at near-bankable businesses. Longing to apply lessons learned in emerging markets, she moved to S Africa after graduating Stanford business school, to work in venture capital (with Anthuri) in a nascent ecosystem. From Cape Town, Engel was recruited by Accion as Head of Product + Innovation, to launch new financial services to underserved businesses and consumers globally – including an extended stint in Mexico with Compartamos (re-branded Gentera Bank following its IPO in 2007). This IPO provided the funds and the mandate to launch Accion’s Frontier Investments – its first fintech for inclusion fund and the predecessor to the launch of Quona Capital.
